Georgetown Israel Alliance’s Israel Day  May 2017

Israel Day is our annual celebration intended to be in lieu of a Yom Haatzmaut-Israeli Independence Day event. We will embrace and share Israeli culture with Georgetown and the greater DC community by providing free catered Israeli food, music, entertainment, and educational information. The event is in a festival style, in which we have food, tabling for co-sponsoring organizations, an area for a D.J. to play music, an eating area, and an educational tabling area where people can learn about different themes regarding Israel through Israeli, Jewish, and allied organizations, as well as our board members. This year, the educational table themes will be: the Many Faces of Israel and Israeli Diversity, Israel and the Environment, Israel and Foreign/Humanitarian Aid, and Israel and the LGBTQ community. The food provided is kosher catered Mediterranean from Max’s Catering in Maryland. The musical entertainment is provided by a member of our organization who will be playing the venue. The venue will be Copley Lawn, or in the case of rain, McShain Large.
