Job Title: Regional Director
Location: New York, Washington DC, Boston, San-Francisco, Miami, Houston TX, Toronto, Montreal
Duration: Part time (possible potential for full time position in the future)
Salary range: $14,000 - $17,000

Suggested Qualifications

Applicants should be recent American university graduates who are familiar with the Jewish community, have participated in at least one long-term program in Israel, and are determined to help shape the future of Israel and the Jewish people.

The Organization

Hagshama, the student department of the World Zionist Organization, is a worldwide network of Zionist thinkers and activists. USD Hagshama, the North American branch, invites Jews, ages 18 to 30, to become involved in developing a dynamic Zionist leadership in their area and creating meaningful and personal connections to Israel. Responsibilities

  • Developing effective Zionist student leadership on campuses in the Region through sustained interaction with Jewish students
  • Connecting students to their Jewish identity by connecting them to Israel through programs on campus and programs in Israel
  • Work with students to identify and implement annual goals for their campuses
  • Build cultural and educational Israel programs on campuses
  • Develop partnerships with key community organizations
  • Work on a national level on specific projects with other USD/Hagshama directors
  • Provide American Jewish students a forum to explore their current and potential relationship with Israel
  • Provoke young Jews to question their connection and responsibility to Israel as well as their place within the Jewish people

Requirements

  • College graduate, preferably from a university in the USA.
  • Good background in issues relating to Jewish Identity and Israel.
  • Past participation in a Long Term Program in Israel.
  • Ability to work both individually and in a team.
  • Experience working in a Zionist organization, youth movement or campus activity.
  • Excellent public speaking and communication skills.
  • Teaching and/or leadership experience
  • Knowledge of Hebrew is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Internet Access and Excel.
