Opportunities: CAMERA Internship OpportunityCAMERA - The Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America - has an opening for one intern in its Washington, D.C. office each academic semester (fall, spring, summer). CAMERA is the Boston-based news media monitoring organization with more than 50,000 members in the United States, Canada, Israel and 10 other countries. In addition to Boston, it has offices in Washington, D.C., New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Israel. CAMERA promotes accuracy, objectivity and news media accountability according to standard journalistic criteria. Intern assignments: On-line and hard copy research; fact-checking of news reports; drafting critiques of specific articles or broadcasts, letters to the editor, articles for CAMERA publications including the magazines Media Report and CAMERA on Campus; backgrounders for the Web site, www.camera.org and short items for Snapshots: A CAMERA Blog; clipping and filing; assisting with event planning; covering hearings, press conferences; other duties as assigned. Qualifications: College undergraduate or graduate, familiarity with current U.S. news coverage of the Middle East in general, the Arab- Israeli conflict in particular. Course work in journalism, communications, Jewish studies, Middle East studies, and/or international relations. Previous communications or foreign policy- related internship(s) helpful.
