About the Jewish Agency for Israel

For over 80 years, the Jewish Agency has served as the link between the Jewish people and Israel, working to ensure the future of a connected, committed, global Jewish People with a strong Israel at its center. As we bring more olim and stand ready as the Jewish world’s first responder to crises both in Israel and around the world, the Jewish Agency is redirecting its primary focus toward the greatest challenge we currently face as a people – strengthening the Jewish identity of young Jews in both the Diaspora and Israel.
The CAMERA Campus Activist Project is an exciting new student initiative aimed at helping to create and support pro-Israel student organizations on college campuses across the country.

CCAP Logo

CCAP, the CAMERA Campus Activist Project, will assist in creating pro-Israel student organizations on college campuses across the country, enabling like-minded students to present speakers and hold events — as well as to organize in response to biased activity against the Jewish state.

Opponents of Israel’s right to security, and even its right to exist, have been very active on campus, and more efforts need to be made by the pro-Israel community to expose the falsehoods spread by these detractors. CAMERA’s new initiative will help students further educate their peers about Israel, the Middle East and the Arab-Israeli conflict and will complement our highly successful Fellowship program.

The program will allow students to create recognized student groups on campuses where resources are not already available and can support already recognized autonomous pro-Israel groups with resources they are not receiving. We will support students who do not have an active Hillel House or do not have enough funding to promote events that educate about the Jewish state. Students will have autonomous control over the pro-Israel events they choose to hold. CAMERA will act a resource to the students, providing them with guidance and funding for programs.

CCAP Groups

Below are details for creating/helping fund student groups on a campus:

The group must be openly pro-Israel.

The group must be completely autonomous — not affiliated with any other student group.

All events, speakers, and co-sponsors must be approved by CAMERA.

The group will be focused on Israel but will have funds to cover social as well as educational events.

The group must respond to anti-Israel propaganda on campus.

The group must have a designated leader who will act as a liaison to CAMERA.

The group will create its own name and not include CAMERA in its name.

For a student to create a recognized student organization, he/she needs to follow the particular requirements of his/her campus.

About CAMERA

Founded in 1982, the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America is a media-monitoring, research and membership organization devoted to promoting accurate and balanced coverage of Israel and the Middle East. CAMERA fosters rigorous reporting, while educating news consumers about Middle East issues and the role of the media. Because public opinion ultimately shapes public policy, distorted news coverage that misleads the public can be detrimental to sound policymaking. A non-partisan organization, CAMERA takes no position with regard to American or Israeli political issues or with regard to ultimate solutions to the Arab-Israeli conflict.
