GMU Avi Schaefer Memorial Shabbat Dinner for Jewish-Muslim Unity and Tolerance  ↑ February 2012

A very special Friday night dinner in honor of Israeli-American peace advocate Avi Schaefer, who was tragically struck and killed by a vehicle on February 12, 2010. In his memory, and in accordance with the values he believed in, please join us for a kosher/halal meal, catered to bring together GMU’s Jewish and Muslim, as well as Israeli and Palestinian students in friendship and mutual respect. It is our hope that this event may be the launching pad of many future interactions centered around promoting tolerance, friendship, and mutually respectful dialogue. The meal and the event are being graciously sponsored by Avi’s family, and the Avi Schaefer Fund.
